Exam Accommodations for CAE Students

1.      As the University has moved to an online test environment, the CAE will no longer proctor exams. However, the need for proctoring will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact your CAE Counselor to discuss an accommodation that cannot be provided in an “on-line” environment.

2.      Please disregard the previously assigned exam booking listed on the Student Portal.

3.      If your accommodation includes a reader, scribe, Jaws, or Kurzweil, please contact the CAE Testing Center (310-825-2651) immediately. This will be scheduled on a case-by-case basis. The CAE Testing Center will contact you as well.

4.      Please remember to release your CAE accommodation letter in order for your faculty to be aware of the accommodations that need to be implemented.

5.      Remind your instructor(s) of your testing accommodation(s). If your exam accommodation is extra time, this should be applied in working directly with your instructors. Instructors can access your approved testing accommodations and information through the Faculty Portal. See example of what you can send your instructor.

6.      If you have any questions about your accommodations, please contact your CAE counselor ––or call the CAE main office at 310-825-1501.

7.      Updates related to the online academic environment will be ongoing. Please continue to monitor the CAE Announcements section of the website.

8.      If a lack of access to technology will impact your ability to participate in courses that have been modified to online technology, please fill out a MyUCLA Ask A Question online form.
